Pete is a loving husband and father of three sons. He has personally experienced the need for Hospice Care living through the loss of his sister to cancer; she is one of the inspirations behind the development of this resourceful and helpful radio show.
Beyond his personal journey with Hospice Care, Mr. Persaud has an extensive background in the medical care field. He has been practicing respiratory care for over 36 yrs. He spent 5 yrs serving in the Army. He attended the Respiratory Specialist Program in the military in San Antonio and trained at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington DC. Pete graduate from Manhattan College City University in NYC.
He has 22 yrs of managerial experience as a director of respiratory care, pulmonary rehabilitation and radiology department. He has extensive experience working in neonatal and pediatric ICU at Cook Children’s Hospital for 20 yrs. He has also worked at JPS for 4 years, Kindred Hospital Southwest for 15 yrs as the Director of Respiratory Care, Radiology and Pulmonary Rehab Department, Life Care hospital for 2 yrs (all in TX); Jamaica Medical Center in Jamaica Queens for 8 yrs as an Assistant Director, his Clinical training at Cornell Medical Center, Sloan Kettering Medical Center, New York University Medical Center and Booth Memorial Hospital in Queens, NY. Mr. Persaud is currently based in TX and is with Healthsouth Nursing & Rehabilitation in Arlington as a Lead therapist.
